In the morning we'll visit Salt Lake Mormon Temple, Temple Square and the Utah State Capitol Building. After lunch we'll drive to West Yellowstone, passing through Snake River Canyon and stopping to see the widest man-made waterfall in the world: Idaho Falls. We will stay overnight in West Yellowstone.

Today's itinerary is entirely devoted to Yellowstone Park. You'll see the ever-popular Old Faithful, which spews boiling water as high as 180 feet into the air. During the winter months the local wildlife come down from the higher altitudes seeking the warmth of the thermal pools, so your chances of spotting an elk or bison are much greater in winter than in summer. Other animals active in the wintertime include trumpeter swans, otters and wolves.

Option one:
Leaving for the Yellowstone National Park north gate – Mammoth after breakfast. Mammoth hot spring currently is the largest hot spring deposited by carbonates. Mammoth hot spring is surrounded by mountains. The hot water is poured from the mouth of the spring, causing the nearby cold air liquefying quickly, and creates a smoky atmosphere. Multiple hot springs gush from the tope of the mountain, and the hill is eroded in to stair-step sharp. In the winter, you can usually meet a group of dears coming down the mountain to hunt for food, what a funny view!

On the way driving back from West Yellowstone to Salt Lake City, we will stop at Idaho Falls City, and visit the widest man-made waterfalls – Idaho Falls. Getting on the van and keep driving, we will be at Salt Lake City in the afternoon, and then, it is time to fly back to your original places and end this unforgettable Yellowstone winter trip.
