One of the world’s most artist-associated places is this city where some of the most influential painters have lived and worked, including Paul Cezanne, Camille Pissarro and Vincent van Gogh. Auvers-sur-Oise is the place where Van Gogh died and his final resting place, as well as his brother Theo van Gogh’s, is located here. Although somber, no visit here is complete without seeing the room in the Auberge Ravoux, aka Maison de Van Gogh, where the artist fatally wounded himself.
