Tour the magnificent artwork and rich history of Barcelona City Hall. Built on the Plaça Sant Jaume, where political debates were held in Roman times, City Hall is located in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. Don’t let the building’s neoclassical façade fool you. It’s covering some of the richest art and architecture in the city. See sculptures by Gargallo and Navarro, and complex murals along the Hall of Chronicles. Be sure to visit the Great Hall – the meeting place of Barcelona’s first government from 1373 to 1714. There’s also a tourist office on the ground floor for Barcelona’s visitors.
