This once infamous city known the world over for paramilitaries and sectarian violence is today largely bereft of the problems that occurred during “the Troubles,” an era of widespread political and religious conflict, and is now a city that thrives, due in no small part to the Belfast Good Friday Agreement. Belfast consists of classic Victorian architecture, jam-packed pubs and shipyards. In fact, the Titanic was built at Belfast’s Harland & Wolff shipyard, which today is a visitor attraction and monument in the city’s Titanic Quarter called Titanic Belfast.
