Perched high atop a hill overlooking the spectacular Lake Bled, Slovenia's oldest castle never ceases to amaze tourists. Bled Castle was first noted in a 1011 deed by Roman Holy Emperor Henry II. It had been the seat of the Bishops of Brixen for 800 years. Castle terraces provide unforgettable views of the lake. Bled Castle has a drawbridge over a moat, a Romanesque tower, two courtyards and a chapel. It also features a museum and restaurant.
