Human remains from various Paris cemeteries were relocated in the late 1700s to this maze of underground tunnels that used to be quarries. The ossuary now containing more than six million Parisian corpses is a tourist attraction and part of the Carnavalet - History of Paris Museum. The underground cemetery was named after the Catacombs of Rome. This tour is not for the faint of heart.
