This Gothic cathedral in Kutna Hora is the town’s main attraction. Founded by wealthy mine owners in the late 1300s, the spectacular building was not completed until 1905. It is named for Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners, and features medieval frescoes and stained glass windows that depict mining life in the town. The cathedral’s most magnificent feature may still be its spires, which are best viewed from a distance while approaching Kutna Hora.
