Freixenet produces sparkling wine in Catalonia. The Cavas Freixenet winery is located right next to the train station, so it’s very easy to find. The Cavas, or caves, are part of the old winery and were built in the 1920s. Tour guides escort visitors into the caves where they’ll learn about wine production and fermentation. There’s also a “royal reserve” of wine and bottles dating back to the 1940s. Guests are then transported to the modern facility where the company makes and stores wine today. When all is done, guests enjoy a glass of Freixenet with a mountain view.
