This ancient street became part of Prague Castle’s complex in the 15th century. It is named for the goldsmiths and alchemists who occupied many of the small dwellings that once lined the street. Today eleven historic houses, which replaced the dilapidated dwellings hundreds of years ago, contain everyday scenes of artisans who once lived and worked here. The upper levels of the houses display medieval armory and textiles.
