Formerly Locke's Distillery, this Irish tourist attraction dates back to 1757 when whiskey production began there. Kilbeggan Distillery ceased operations and closed in 1957. The townspeople of Kilbeggan then restored the site 25 years later and re-opened it as a museum. It is now owned by Cooley Distillery, which produces Kilbeggan Whiskey. The distillery features a restaurant as well as the antique waterwheel that used to run it and many other relics.
