Monastery of Santa Maria de Ripoll
This Romanesque monastery was founded by Count Wilfred in the 9th century. As a cultural center, it grew remarkably through the 12th century and was not completed until the 16th. Its most stunning feature is the 12th century portico, which is divided into seven sections that depict scenes from the Bible. Three of its original five naves remain today.
