The oldest synagogue in Europe is this Gothic structure built in the 13th century and located in Prague's Jewish Town. The Old-New Synagogue has held services ever since it was constructed excluding when Prague was occupied by Nazi Germany between 1942 – 1945. Many legends including that of the Prague Monster Golem surround this historic Jewish landmark. The synagogue features exhibits on the history of Prague's Jewish community and monuments.
