Also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, the Duomo balances Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Rossellino built it in 1495 to have three naves and vast stained glass windows. Today it is in Pienza’s main square and houses artwork from the Sienese school, which was popular from the 13th through 15th centuries. It also has an electric organ for ceremonies – the Duomo’s most modern feature.
