This is the largest ancient castle complex in the world, covering over 18 acres in the Castle District above Lesser Town. Founded around 880, the complex centers around three courtyards and includes royal residences, churches, a monastery, art galleries, museums, viewing towers and gardens. Watch the changing of the guard ceremony by the castle gates, take a stroll down Golden Lane, or visit the famous St. Vitus Cathedral with its art nouveau stained glass windows and Tomb of St. John of Nepomuk. This is a World Heritage Site you won’t want to miss.
