This semicircular terrace of regal townhouses is one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in England. The Royal Crescent in Bath, built between 1767 and 1774, was home to many notable people, some of whom are commemorated on plaques that adorn the building, such as Thomas Gainsborough, Clive of India and David Livingstone. Today the Royal Crescent features a hotel and a Georgian house museum.
