Located on Montjuic Hill in Barcelona, the modern art museum opened in 1975 and was named after its founded Spanish Catalan artist Joan Miro i Ferrà. The Joan Miro Foundation has more than 14,000 artworks including paintings, sculptures, textiles, ceramics and drawings of Miro and other contemporary artists. It also provides workshops, classes, theater and concerts for the public. Josep Lluis Sert designed the foundation's building.
