Commonly referred to as La Bola, or the Ball, the Tijuana Cultural Center is worth a visit not just for the science-fiction fantasy exterior, but also for the wealth of cultural and artistic events going on inside. In addition to the IMAX Dome, the cultural center is home to the Museo de las Californias, chronicling the history of Baja California from prehistoric times to the mid-20th century; The Cube, a gallery showcasing works from all over the globe; the Documentation Center for the Arts; a botanical garden; and an aquarium. The center's annual program is chock full of festivals and activities in film, dance, theater, literature, folk traditions, music, visual arts and more.
