Also called Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Viennese gallery houses the art collection of the Habsburgs. The Vienna Museum of Art History was constructed from between 1872-91 and designed by architects Gottfried Semper and Carl von Hasenauer. The building exterior is the same as that of the Museum of Natural History. The structures are situated across from each other in the Maria-Theresien-Platz along Vienna's Ringstrasse. The museum's extensive holdings include the Egyptian and Near Eastern Collection, Greek and Roman Antiques, Picture Gallery and a Coin Museum.
