The city of Winslow, Arizona, was incorporated in 1900. The city is best known for being home to La Posada Hotel, which is the last Harvey House. La Posada opened in Winslow in 1930, closed in 1957 and later reopened as a historical hotel, several decades earlier. Winslow is also home to the 9-11 remembrance gardens, which honors the victims of the September 11 attacks, and was constructed out of two beams that were recovered from the wreckage of the World Trade Center towers.
