Our 7-day France, Switzerland and Italy itinerary starts in Paris. After boarding the tour bus in the morning, we will depart for Switzerland and enjoy the beauty of the classic French countryside along the way.
First we will pass through Basel, located on the border of France, Germany and Switzerland. The city sits at the foot of the snow-capped Swiss Alps. If time permits, we will have the opportunity to shop or take photos.
Then arrive in the picturesque lakeside city of Lucerne, where we will stay the night.

Hotel: Campanile Venice-Mestr or similar
After breakfast, we will head south from Lucerne through Switzerland into northern Italy.
Our first stop will be Milan, the fashion capital of the world. Here we will visit the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the oldest shopping arcade in the world, the legendary opera house La Scala, the historic Sforza Castle, and the sumptuous gothic Milan Cathedral.
After exploring the highlights of Milan, we'll head to another ancient Italian city: Venice, and spend the night here or in a nearby city.
Hotel: LH Hotel Excel Roma Montemario / IH Hotel Roma Z3 or similar
After breakfast, we will take you on a tour of the enchanting city of Venice, with its magnificent palaces, lyrical waterways, fascinating churches and impressive architecture.
In San Marco Square, we will see the St Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco), one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture, and the Bridge of Sighs, which connects the Old Prison to the Doge's Inquisition.
Later, you will have the opportunity to see some traditional Venetian craftwork at a demonstration by Murano glassblowers.
You will also have the option for a shared gondola ride on the Grand Canal - a must excursion for most people - to round out the Venice tour.
Transfer to Rome in the afternoon. The night will be spent in Rome or a neighboring city.
Hotel: A Point Arezzo Park Hotel / Antica Tabaccaia Resort or similar
Your day in Rome starts with a visit to the smallest country in the world, The Vatican City, which lies at the heart of the Italian capital. Here you'll marvel at St Peter's Basilica, home to Pope Francis and arguably the most significant site in Christianity. The exquisitely beautiful Basilica has been present here for almost 1,700 years and contains a bewildering collection of paintings, frescoes and design crafted by some of humanity's most famous artists, which you can explore. Alternatively, you can choose to add on the optional Sistine Chapel tour to view Michelangelo's famous painted ceiling.
Next you will visit famous sights of Rome; the Colosseum, built in AD 72. History comes to life as you imagine yourself witnessing gladiatorial combat inside the spectacular Amphitheatre. After the Colosseum, get up close to the nearby Arch of Constantine, which dates back to the fourth century AD. To complete our visit to Rome we will visit the magnificent Reunification Memorial Hall, the Victor Emmanuel II National Monument, which was built to honour King Victor Emmanuel II who unified Italy. In the afternoon we'll depart for Florence, known as the cradle of culture.
Hotel: Idea Plus Hotel Savona / Aregai Marina Hotel & Residence or similar
On this day, we will be introduced to the sights and sounds of Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. We'll head to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view of Florence, and then to a local artisanal workshop for a tour of the making of Florence's fine leather goods.
Afterward, take a guided walking tour of Florence's top attractions, including the Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River, the Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower and the Uffizi Gallery. Before heading to the next destination, you will have free time to explore the city further, shop or watch the world go by from a street café.
In Pisa, you can wander at your leisure to take photos of the iconic Leaning Tower, the famous bell tower in the "Piazza del Mirador", which also contains the centuries-old Cathedral and Baptistery. Later in the evening, we will travel to a city nearby Genoa for the night.
Hotel: Campanile Avignon Sud-Montfavet la Cristole / Brit Hotel Avignon or similar
Drive along the magnificent stretch of Mediterranean coastline, bidding farewell to Italy and saying hello to Monaco - the tiny principality that hosts the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix.
We'll take a walking tour of the Prince's Palace of Monaco, then head to the 1920s courthouse, the Cliffside Oceanographic Museum, and Saint Nicholas Cathedral, where Grace Kelly is buried.
We will then visit the Fragonard perfume factory to learn about the process of making perfume. After the guided tour, you will also be able to purchase a perfume for yourself.
Next, we will travel to Nice to sample the delicious local cuisine and experience the warmth of hospitality.
We'll stop in Cannes to visit the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, home to the city's annual International Film Festival, before heading to the nearby city of Avignon to check into our hotel.
Take a well-earned rest today as you sit back and enjoy great views of the changing rural charms of the French countryside on the journey north to Paris.
