Paper Lantern Festival (September 23 - December 8th)
Florence’s paper lantern festival, more commonly known as the “Festa Della Rificolona” is a traditional celebration dating back to the 12th century. During the celebration, the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata becomes lit up with beautiful handmade paper lanterns before a parade accompanied by music and songs begins to travel through the streets.
