Arrive at Tromso Airport, then transfer with regular airport express bus to the city center, followed by a short walk to Hotel Radisson Blu Tromso or similar. Earliest check-in time is 3:00pm. Please book your flight accordingly.

Tromso is a one of the world's largest cities North of the Arctic Circle, a city, where modern urban life and breath-taking arctic scenery go hand in hand. During the morning city tour we'll get acquainted with the world's most northerly Botanical gardens and enjoy views of the mountains to the east and south. We'll continue with a visit to Tromso University Museum, where we'll learn fascinating facts on nature and culture in northern Norway and the indigenous Sami people. Following that, we continue around the island, passing Lake Prestvatn with the Meteorological Institute, then crossing the bridge to the Arctic Cathedral for a visit to this masterpiece with a monumental stained-glass window. In the evening we head to the Aurora Camp, where we are equipped with thermal overalls and boots to keep us nice and warm all evening. Three hundred friendly Alaskan huskies will be waiting to greet us and enjoy some cuddles. There we'll enjoy a traditional Norwegian dinner and wait for the Northern Lights to appear in the sky.

Today we continue to Alta. The distance between Tromso and Alta is about 300km. The trip takes around 8 hours and includes two ferry rides and a lunch break. The trip takes us through the most stunning mountain landscapes and is something to remember for a long time. We arrive in the late afternoon and check in at Thon Hotel Alta or similar accommodations. An optional Northern Lights tour can be pre-booked for the evening: a visit the family owned Sorrisniva Adventure Facility, perfectly located to maximize our chances of seeing the magnificent Northern Lights (own expense).

Today we start with a visit to the award-winning Alta Museum, located at the site of early settlement of Finnmark dating back 11,000 years ago. The museum features exhibitions on local culture and history. After that we'll visit the elegant and modern Northern Lights Cathedral. The balance of the day is reserved for exploring more of this arctic town on your own. In the evening we offer an optional sleigh ride under the Northern Lights (own expense). We'll travel to a farm in the nearby countryside where you will climb aboard a sleigh and bundle up in warm blankets.
