We were a family of five from New Zealand - we took this Tour 25/9. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as i had read reviews that weren't that great but i thought i'd give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the tour was run. Ou..r Tour was with Seagull Tours (they don't give you this information until you book which means that you can't review this Tour Company), Tour Guide was Chris, Driver was Robert. Robert was a very safe driver and a lovely quiet man. Chris was funny but a good tour guide even with his limited english. I knew before i took the Tour that the Guide might/might not have good english. Very long hours in the bus, but this is to be expected considering the distances travelled. Late check-ins both nights and early departures but again, this is to be expected given the distances covered. The first night Hotel was Holiday Inn which was excellent, the second night Ramada Merced which was a 2 Star. I was pleased that optional tours were in fact 'optional' as we didn't do the in-depth tour. However, be careful that you get back to the meeting point on time should you depart from the main Tour Group to do your owning exploring of San Francisco. I think that SeaGull Tours could improve their service by giving customers a full itinerary at least 2 days before departure. It would be nice to see where we are staying prior to departure and to have a more detailed itinerary with times as to when we arrive in San Francisco etc etc. NB: If i had this info then i would have known that i would have had time to visit Alcatraz the Island (would of had plenty time to do this so long as you don't do the in-depth tour). If SeaGull Tours were to provide this information then that would be excellent. Enjoyed visiting Santa Barbara, Solvang, San Francisco & the Bay Cruise was excellent and Yosemite was absolutely beautiful. We had to change buses for our return to Los Angeles and i just wanted to say that the Tour Guide for the bus i changed to was very helpful (made a phone call to my Hotel for me because we were running late and i wanted to advise the Hotel accordingly). Also, i was lucky to get a drop off different to my pick up so thank you SeaGull Tours. I thoroughly enjoyed this Tour and would highly recommend to friends and family. I rate this Tour a 4/5 for good value for money. Kia Ora !Read full review
Having a small tour group made it easy to have meaningful connections with everyone.I would highly recommend completing this tour if you like hiking and camping trips.
You never mentioned the guide was chinese and the tour was for chinese. Horrible. Aimed at chinese people. All about house prices and homosexuals! Something we were not interested in. Fellow travelers were very rude and guide spoke limited ..english. Never again. Not happy at all. This company sucks. Tour would be good if you were chinese and only wanted to take photos and spit.Read full review
Everthing easy and sufficiently comfortable. But 2.5 hours free time was not enough for hiking since I had to spare one hour for having lunch in the eatery when it was very crowded. There was a tip to save our time; that is, we could prepar..e easy lunch sets at the rest area, which was a supermarket, before we headed to Yosemite natu .Read full review
100% Excellent tour for people who don't have access to a car of their own

This is a really amazing tour to go on, if you're not from around the United States, don't have a car of your own or don't want to use a rental car. The California coast is really gorgeous and this tour more or less captures all the major a..ttractions and highlights! There might be some problems understanding the guide's English, if you're a non-Mandarin speaker, but the guide is really friendly and accommodating. The transportation is pretty decent, the accommodation is top-notch and there are plenty of options for food. Overall, a great experience, for a short 3 day trip in Northern California!Read full review
