New Mexico's most populated city is the destination of the famous annual Balloon Fiesta and situated along the Rio Grande. Albuquerque was established in 1706 and named after Don Francisco Fernandez de la Cueva, the 8th Duke of Albuquerque in Spain. City points of interest include the University of New Mexico, Old Town Albuquerque, The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, Albuquerque Biological Park, KiMo Theatre and the nearby Sandia Peak Tramway.
