Bryce Canyon National Park

The Southwest Utah 52.6-square-mile recreation area is acclaimed for its wondrous natural spires called hoodoos that were created by limestone erosion and vary in spectacular colors. Bryce Canyon National Park established in 1928 was named after pioneer Ebenezer Bryce and also contains rock arches, parts of the Grand Staircase, 13 view points, eight hiking trails, two campgrounds, more than 1,000 plant species, 100-plus bird species and many mammals including the endangered Utah Prairie Dog. The park's clean air quality allows guests visibility as far as 200 miles and the darkness of the night sky gives spectators the chance to see as many as 7,500 stars.
