About Cameron

The Arizona city is located on a Navajo Reservation with most of its population of Native American descent and is in close proximity to Grand Canyon National Park and Little Colorado River. Cameron Trading Post is a popular tourist attraction in the city that has a population of less than 1,000 people. Arizona has more Native American territory than any other states in the U.S. Cameron grew as a community after the 1911 construction of the Cameron Suspension Bridge that was named after state Sen. Ralph Cameron, who created the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon.
