About Christiansburg

Legendary American frontiersmen Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone both spent time in this Virginia city established in 1792 as did famous African American educators Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver. Christiansburg's notable sites are the Montgomery Museum and Lewis Miller Regional Art Center, Montgomery County Courthouse, Slate Mountain Presbyterian Church and Cemetery, The Starlite Drive-in, Huckleberry Trail and the Christianburg Aquatic Center. The town was named after Col. William Christian, who was famous for fighting the Native Americans of the area and was the brother-in-law of Patrick Henry.
