This historic Highlands village lies at the end of Scotland’s most famous glen, Glen Coe. Glencoe Village, which native Gaelic speakers refer to as A’Charnaich, meaning "the place of cairns," was built on the site of the Massacre of Glencoe in 1692, when the resident Clan MacDonald of Glencoe were killed by forces acting on behalf of the government of King William II following the Glorious Revolution.
