About Kanab, UT

Nicknamed "Utah's Little Hollywood," this city established in 1870 has been the filming location for countless Western movies and television shows including "The Lone Ranger," "Gunsmoke," "Stagecoach," "El Dorado," and "The Outlaw Josey Wales." Kanab is located in the Grand Circle region surrounded by Grand Canyon's North Rim, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Vermilion Cliffs National Monument and Grand Staircase National Monument. Zion National Park

Utah's first national park that was established in 1919 contains a wide variety of canyons, mountains, cliffs, rivers, lakes, natural arches, buttes, mesas, forests, deserts, wildlife and parts of the Grand Staircase in its 229 square miles. Zion National Park that was originally home to the Anasazi Native Americans nearly 12,000 years ago and many artifacts of ancient life have been discovered there. Park highlights are Zion Canyon, Temples and Towers of the Virgin, Horse Ranch Mountain, Angel's Landing Trail and The Subway. It has seven trails, three campground areas, more than 1,000 plant species, 207 bird species and 67 different mammal species.
