This inviting crystal clear lake was formed when the Davis Dam was built on the Colorado River in 1951 and along with Lake Mead makes up the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Lake Mohave, or Lake Mojave, is 67 miles long stretching from the Hoover Dam to the Davis Dam on the borders of the states of Nevada and Arizona. It is named for the Mojave Native American tribe. The lake's Black Canyon area is a popular spot to find thermal and non-thermal springs.
