The 1,066-foot steel pedestrian bridge crossing the River Thames connects the London landmarks of St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tate Modern Gallery. Millennium Bridge opened in 2000 and is the first pedestrian bridge to span the Thames in more than a century. It was designed as "The Blade of Light" by architect Sir Norman Foster and sculptor Sir Anthony Caro with engineers Arup.
