About Nashville

Home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Grand Ole Opry, Nashville's name is synonymous with country music. Nashville was founded in 1779 and the capital of Tennessee. It became the first state capital to be taken over by Union Troops during the American Civil War in 1862 and was the site of 1864's Battle of Nashville.
