About Quincy

Referred to as "The City of Presidents" as it was the birthplace of United States presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams as well as John Hancock. Quincy was first called Moswetuset Hummock and traversed in visited in 1621 by Plymouth Colony leader Myles Standish and a native guide. It was settled in 1625 by English colonists and earned its current name and was incorporated as a separate town named for John Quincy in 1792 and incorporated into a city in 1888. Points of interest are USS Salem, Peacefield, President John Adams' birthplace, Josiah Quincy House and Blue Hills Reservation.
