See the largest of London’s royal parks which is also a national nature reserve. Richmond Park, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation in southwest London, was created by Charles I in 1634 as a deer park and still has a herd of more than 600 red and fallow deer. In addition to deer, the park features formal gardens, ancient oaks and ponds.
