About Rostock

This large port city on the Baltic Sea was devastated during WWII but still has a charming, albeit small, Altstadt (Old Town) of red-brick and pastel buildings that date back to the 14th-century Hanseatic era. Rostock today is a vibrant university town and home to one of the oldest universities in the world, the University of Rostock, which was founded in 1419.
