Formally known as Rudesheim am Rhein, this German winemaking town is located in the Rhine Gorge and is part of a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site. Rudesheim was originally settled by the Celts, but the Romans took over the area in the 1st Century. Notable attraction in the town and nearby include Eibingen Abbey, Bromserburg, Niederwalddenkmal, Siegfrieds Mechanisches Musikkabinett and Rheingauer Weinmuseum Brömserburg.
