Located on Île de la Cite, this Gothic cathedral dates back to medieval times when its was commissioned by King Louis IX of France and consecrated in 1248. Sainte-Chapelle, translated in English as The Holy Chapel, housed many of the king's most cherished religious relics such as the Crown of Thorns and Image of Edessa. Today, the building is a National Historic Monument and attracts many visitors. The structure's stained glass windows depicting many religious scenes are spectacular and not to be missed!
