This port city in south England is most renowned as the launching point for the maiden voyage of the ill-fated Titanic. Southampton, aka “the gateway to Britain,” is a major disembarkation and embarkation port. On its Western Esplanade is a memorial tower to the Pilgrims who set sail to the New World from Southampton in 1620. Ocean Village should not be missed as it is overflowing with pubs, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
