The bells at this landmark cathedral in the Czech city of Brno ring at 11 o'clock instead of noon as a tradition originating back to when the city was under siege by the Swedes during the Thirty Years' War. Situated on Petrov Hill, St. Peter and Paul Cathedral was built in the 14th century and renovated several times including the addition between 1904-05 of its 275-foot tall towers designed by noted architect August Kirstein. This Gothic jewel is a Czech Republic National Monument.
