Designed by A. Quincy Jones in the mid-60s for Walter and Leonore Annenberg, Sunnyland is a prime example of modernist architecture. The material of the building - steel, concrete, glass - are all clearly shown throughout the structure. Surrounding the estate is an extensive cactus and flower garden. The estate was frequently by many historic and famous individuals, including Queen Elizabeth, Frank Sinatra, Bill Clinton, and Bob Hope. Today, the estate houses the Sunnylands art collection of sculptures and paintings, as well as hosts tours of the historic estate. It is also considered the Camp David of the West because it is used for summits between foreign and domestic dignitaries.
