This Six Flags amusement park located in Queensbury, New York near Lake George contains more than 135 rides and attractions as well as a water park with 11 aquatic activities. The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom started in 1954 as Storytown USA, changed its name to The Great Escape in 1983, opened the water park in 1995 and was bought a year later by Premier Parks that later purchased Six Flags. It has seven roller coasters including its highly-rated wooden The Comet. The Upstate New York park's themed areas are Fest Area, Ghost Town, International Village and Storytown, North Woods Picnic Grove, KIDZOPOLIS, Splashwater Kingdom and Timber Town.
